Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, train and in some cases, supervise volunteers for a variety of areas needed at GRIP shelter. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for supporting staff in identifying needs and keeping records of volunteer hours of those that work.

 


College Intern/Fund Development

The Fund Development Volunteer provides support to our Executive Director and Board of Directors for planning and coordinating all aspects of fund development and public relations for GRIP. Responsibilities include:  Providing assistance on all fundraising initiatives including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorship’s, donor cultivation and grant writing; Providing assistance with identifying, organizing and managing the fundraising activities of GRIP with a focus on new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations, public and private organizations, faith communities, and individuals; Providing assistance at GRIP fundraising events.  We are seeking a student majoring in business, marketing, public relations or related field.  The applicant will be expected to volunteer 10-15 hours per week while school is in session; Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel and Word; Work effectively both independently and on a team.  Advanced PC skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Donor database experience desirable).

This position can also be filled by an adult who is not enrolled in school, but the individual must meet the same requirements.


 

College Intern/Volunteer/Finance

Seeking a student majoring in accounting (senior or junior level- you will receive hours/credits) with knowledge of Nonprofit Accounting.  The applicant will be expected to: volunteer 10-15 hours per week while school is in session; Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel and Word; Work effectively both independently and on a team; Assist with month-end financial reports; Work under supervision of other accountants; Help with bank statement reconciliations, as well as accounts payable and receivable; Assist with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports; Ensure the completion of assigned tasks are in line with established deadlines; Study the accounting policies and processes of the organization and abide by them; Compose and input journal entries into QuickBooks.

This position can also be filled by an adult who is not enrolled in school, but the individual must meet the same requirements.


General Administrative Assistance/Data Entry

Give back to the community by assisting with administrative work. Looking for volunteers to help with making phone calls, copying, filing, preparing meeting materials, filling envelops, organizing and assisting the IT Dept. with database entry.
